Hello and welcome, my name is Kendall Toppin. I have recently graduated from Kent State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fashion Design. Here I learned and acquired an impressive pallet of design skills and knowledge about fashion and its cyclical journey from fiber, to garment, and who's wearing it. Having attended Kent State, I was able to partake in their study abroad program. This granted me the opportunity to travel to Florence, Italy and study fashion internationally. Taking my studies global, I was able to grasp a deeper understanding between fashion and the cultural and social impact it has across the world. Now with a great understanding of yarns, weaves and knits, textiles, fashion illustration, pattern drafting, draping, cutting, and sewing; as well as being trained in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Microsoft Excel, I can be a successful addition to any company or client. Additionally, I provide a diverse perspective and bring forth creative and innovative ideas.
Since graduating, I have taken on a part time position with Lane Bryant as their Customer Relations Specialist. With this role I am the lead personal shopper and stylist for our store's clientele. I create and host personal shopping appointments, send product shares and personally curated collections about new releases or updates with our store’s events, sales, and new merchandise. Additionally, I assist in setting up our stores brand guide and ensure all merchandise is store ready and visually captivating through styling and company standards. Finally, I guarantee the best customer experience for all shoppers by hosting bra fittings, ensuring women of various body types get the perfect fit and leave happier than when they walked in.
Fashion and its impact on people and how they view themselves is what has kept me eternally inspired. I always feel my most confident when I am my best dressed and I want others to experience the new person they can be in a great outfit. My plans are to take my extensive knowledge of clothes, fabrics, fit, and style paired with my great understanding of people, culture, and relations to be someone who shows you how your closet can be an asset to your future.
