Hello and welcome, my name is Kendall Toppin. I have recently graduated from Kent State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fashion Design. Here I learned and acquired an impressive pallet of design skills and knowledge about fashion and its cyclical journey from fiber, to garment, and who's wearing it. Having attended Kent State, I was able to partake in their study abroad program. This granted me the opportunity to travel to Florence, Italy and study fashion internationally. Taking my studies global, I was able to grasp a deeper understanding between fashion and the cultural and social impact it has across the world. Now with a great understanding of yarns, weaves and knits, textiles, fashion illustration, pattern drafting, draping, cutting, and sewing; as well as being trained in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Microsoft Excel, I can be a successful addition to any company or client. Additionally, I provide a diverse perspective and bring forth creative and innovative ideas.
Since graduating, I have taken on a position in retail sales with Nordstrom in their lingerie department. As a Retail Sales Specialist in Nordstrom’s Lingerie department, I provide personalized and inclusive customer experiences through expert bra fitting, style consultation, and attentive service. My role blends fashion knowledge with body-positive support, helping customers feel confident and comfortable. I am responsible for meeting sales goals, maintaining a visually appealing and well-stocked department, and leveraging tools such as social media and digital outreach to build lasting customer relationships through Personal Book.
Fashion and its impact on people and how they view themselves is what has kept me eternally inspired. I always feel my most confident when I am my best dressed and I want others to experience the new person they can be in a great outfit. My plans are to take my extensive knowledge of clothes, fabrics, fit, and style paired with my great understanding of people, culture, and relations to be someone who shows you how your closet can be an asset to your future.
